Bacterial Vaginosis symptoms

Bacterial vaginosis (BV) is a condition caused by the overgrowth of certain strains of bacteria in the vagina. While it is irritating, BV is common and, fortunately, can be addressed through antibiotic treatment. According to the CDC, untreated bacterial vaginosis can increase your chance of getting a sexually transmitted infection (STI, also called an STD), so getting tested and treated is important.

  • Vaginal itching or soreness

  • Pain during sexual intercourse

  • Pain or discomfort when urinating

  • Abnormal vaginal discharge
