About this test
No single lab test measures sleep or stress, but a few numbers explain the tiredness that comes with them. Morning cortisol is the adrenal check, TSH shows thyroid pace, and ferritin, vitamin D, magnesium, and B12 cover the nutrient causes.
Cortisol is timed to the morning peak, and the rest need no timing. Cortisol does not measure stress itself; a normal set points attention back to sleep habits, apnea, and mood, which labs do not measure.
