About this test

The Heart Health Panel plus LDL and HDL particle number and size (ion mobility) and homocysteine. Often chosen with a family history of early heart disease.

Cholesterol travels through the blood in particles, and the number of particles is closely tied to heart risk over time. Total cholesterol, HDL, and triglycerides are the standard set on this menu, each as its own test.

ApoB counts the particles that carry cholesterol into artery walls, and hs-CRP adds low-grade inflammation. Fasting for 9 to 12 hours keeps triglycerides comparable from one draw to the next.

What it measures

From one draw

Total cholesterol
All cholesterol in the blood.
HDL
The carrier often called good cholesterol; higher is usually favorable, within limits.
Triglycerides
Blood fats that move with diet and metabolism.
VLDL cholesterol
A triglyceride-carrying cholesterol fraction, calculated from your triglycerides. Tracks with triglycerides.
ApoB
The count of particles that carry cholesterol into artery walls.
hs-CRP
Low-grade inflammation tied to heart risk.
LDL particle number
The number of LDL particles.
HDL particle number
How many HDL particles are circulating. Read alongside the LDL particle count as part of an advanced lipid picture.
Homocysteine
An amino acid that rises when B12 or folate run low.

Reading your result

Your report lists each marker next to the lab’s reference range, with plain-language context for what a value above or below that range can mean. Results are read together: one number outside its range is common, and a clinician weighs it alongside the others and how you feel.
