About this test

Digestive symptoms such as bloating, stomach pain after meals, and irregular bowel habits have many possible causes, and no single lab test explains them. Two checks are common starting points and both can be collected at home.

A celiac screen measures tTG-IgA, the antibody usually checked first for celiac disease, alongside total IgA so the result can be trusted; it only works for people still eating gluten. An IgG food reactivity test ranks foods by immune response, which is information to work through with a clinician, not a verdict on any food.

What it measures

tTG-IgA
The antibody checked first for celiac disease. It targets tissue transglutaminase, an enzyme the immune system reacts to when gluten triggers celiac.
Total IgA
The overall level of IgA antibodies. When total IgA is low, a tTG-IgA result can read normal when it is not, so the two are checked together.

Reading your result

Your report lists each marker next to the lab’s reference range, with plain-language context for what a value above or below that range can mean. Results are read together: one number outside its range is common, and a clinician weighs it alongside the others and how you feel.
